Thanksgiving Dressing Made Easy: Style Your Blazer 3 Ways for the Living Room

Happy Monday! We have finally made it to the week of Thanksgiving, and I can taste the ham and mac and cheese right now! This is my favorite holiday, and I am so excited to be around family, friends, and possibly go see a movie afterwards. I hope you are prepared for Thanksgiving as much as I am, but most importantly that your outfit is prepared too. Let's get into today's blog post shall we!

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and if you’re an ambitious mama who wants to look put together without doing the most, this one’s for you. The secret? A good blazer! One versatile, timeless, essential style staple you can wear three completely different ways and still feel comfortable enough to run the household, plate the food, and snap all the photos.

This is dressing made easy. Let's style your blazer 3 ways for the living room that feature keeping it casual, staying polished, or giving the girls a little extra soft glam. There’s a look here for every vibe.

Look 1: Casual Chic- The Effortless Thanksgiving Vibe

Casual chic blazer style

This look is for the mama who wants to look cute without trying too hard. Pair your blazer with a simple knit top, straight-leg jeans, and comfortable loafers or ankle boots. If you want to be a bit extra, like I did, pair with a neutral block heel. It gives elevated but chill. Perfect for greeting family, grabbing seconds, and lounging on the couch after your plate.

Why it works:

  • It’s comfortable but still polished

  • The blazer instantly elevates denim

  • Great for families with a laid-back Thanksgiving vibe

This look was an inspiration from the hit TV series Reasonable Doubt. Jax Stewart wore a button up red blouse with a neutral plaid brown skirt. I made the look casual chic by wearing jeans instead of a skirt and incorporated the brown into the blazer instead. This is the power of versatility and staying on trend without even trying.

Look 2: Soft Glam- Pretty & Feminine

Soft glam blazer

If you want to give a little extra glam this Thanksgiving (but still live your best living room life), the second way to style your blazer for the living room is pair your blazer with a knit midi dress or a ribbed bodycon dress. Add knee-high boots or a low heel, and you’re giving she understood the holiday assignment.

Why it works:

  • Dresses make getting ready quick and stress-free

  • Boots or a low heel add style without sacrificing comfort

  • The blazer balances feminine + structured

Another great option without sacrificing comfort. I linked a similar option here!

Look 3: Cozy Statement- Chill, But Still a Big Deal

This is the look for the mom who loves a cozy statement. The third and final look on how to style your blazer for the living room is pair it with a neutral matching set. Matching sets are your best friend because they can easily be paired with staple essentials, like this blazer. What also makes it a cozy statement is because the look is neutral, you can an add a pop of color to add your personality. Because it's the fall season I would stick with fall colors like green, burgundy, burnt orange, etc. (I explain more in my Effortless Style Staples Guide ;-)

Why it works:

  • Matching sets can be dressed up or down

  • Adding a neutral seasonal color instantly elevates the look & says I'm here

  • Still comfortable enough for all the Thanksgiving activities
